Fishing Tackle To Canoe – Aluminum Boats Are Best
I have been on many a camping trip and hoisted my canoe on the top of my truck just in case I wanted a little recreation aside from my beloved fishing. I even thought of trying to fish from my little boat, but if you have ever tried to fish from a canoe, you will have noticed that they tip over if you are not centered in the right spot. I found this out first hand.
On most of my fishing trips, I never even took the little boat off the truck. What a waste of time, I thought, and I told myself that I would never ever bring that thing with me again. But, I guess I was just stupid because I took in along on every weekend excursion that I went on.
If I took my wife and son with me, I would tell myself that they could use it. What a dreamer! They hardly got away from the camp site over to the water. To many bugs they said.
Well, I was fishing from the shore like I always did and wanted to make sure I got the best spot so I would not get my line tangled up when I reeled tonight’s dinner in and low and behold, I get a bite. That sucker took the bait and swam out into the lake as fast and his little fins could carry him. I started to reel him in and you know what happened…my fishing line get caught in some underwater brush or tree or whatever is down there and I have to cut my line and dinner swims away.
How many times has this happened to you? I would rant and scream. My thought I was crazy. She is not the true fisherman that I am. My little boy is only 2 so he didn’t understand. But I did.
My family has a history with boats. Performance boats, pontoon boats, skiff boats, you name it and I have been around it. Problem is that we did not have extra money to buy a boat and to tell you the truth, I never thought I would need one.
Well guys, let me tell you that a little aluminum boat changed my way of fishing forever. I borrowed a friends aluminum fishing boat one weekend and took myself out on the lake. I was just amazed at the size of fish that I caught compared to the ones I tried to hook and drag to shore.
I even went out and bought a small portable boat that was inflatable so I would be able to take it with me. Worked pretty good until I snagged the side. I sank and got wet. Lost my good rod and reel too. Don’t buy an inflatable boat….not for any reason…LOL!
I started searching for an aluminum jon boat with a trailer to pull behind my truck. I have to say that there are quite a few models out there to choose from. I had to learn how to search for the right words so I could weed out what I did not want as opposed to what I really did want and could afford.
If your looking for fishing watercraft, I can help you with your decision making. I have been there and and teach you the ropes so you don’t waste a lot of your time.
